President’s Message – April 2026

Hey everyone! Just wanted to share some exciting news about the April Paint Around event. It was an absolute blast! We had an incredible turnout, with artists Polly Boston, Dori Sullivan, Susan Strawbridge, Lionel Sanchez, and Theo Van Eldik all showing off their talents. Five lucky folks won a collaborative painting and discovered a newfound appreciation for watercolor. Check out the “blog” on our website for some amazing photos! citruswatercolorsociety.org

I want to thank everyone who made the event a success. From setting up the room and tables to buying supplies, selling raffle tickets, fetching fresh water, drying and sleeving the paintings, and more, you all went above and beyond. Your hard work made it a truly memorable event.

On May 8th, we’ll be swearing in our officers for 2026-2027. Susan Ford is our potluck coordinator, so please reach out to her at susanfordi@aol.com to sign up. This year, there’s no charge for members, but guests will pay $5.00. Not only are we talented artists, but amazing cooks as well!

Mark your calendars for June 13th and 14th, because our BIG Show and Sale is happening! It’ll be from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday, June 13th and from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Sunday, June 14th. Helene Lancaster is coordinating the event, and she’s still looking for volunteers to help transport the screens and racks back to our storage unit. If you’re interested in volunteering, please let her know by emailing me2xs@aol.com This is our first show and sale at the Art Center, and I’d love for everyone to come and support us. CWS is the artist organization that’s going to be featured at the Art Center of Citrus County’s annual Invitational Exhibit. So, start planning and painting now so we can fill the gallery with your amazing artwork. You can find the prospectus at artcenterofcitruscounty.org.

This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your work for free! The intake of artwork is on June 10th from 10:00-1:00, and the exhibit will be up until July 31st. If you’re planning to be out of town during the summer, please make arrangements with a friend to enter and retrieve your artwork.

I’m excited to see you at the May meeting! Program Director Signian McGeary has planned a fun activity for the group. We always have lots going on and we welcome guests and new members year round.
